  • Work with customers and their consultants to design primary-voltage systems
  • Maintain a priority on safety by incorporating a “brother’s keeper” mentality from the design stage all the way to field visits and office work
  • Create designs conforming to strict standards including company resource books; CPUC General Orders, Rules, Tariffs/Rates; and local ordinances
  • Use Autodesk CAD software to draft multi-sheet work orders complying with company drafting standards and with appropriate construction decals
  • Order correct material and take accountability for work order pricing accuracy
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet customer expectations

  • Recently chosen to lead a project I submitted to the X-Change process improvement program to modernize the transformer loading calculation process. The project will renovate the transformer loading management (TLM) calculation process, which is inefficient, uses antiquated formulas, and is prone to human error. My proposal will leverage smart-meter data directly to allow planners to view actual peak loading on a measured, per-meter basis and will save the company millions of dollars annually in transformer and secondary replacement and several hundred-thousand dollars in research labor.

Mobile Home Park Conversion Planner (temporary assignment)

August 2015 – June 2016

  • This CPUC-driven pilot program will convert mobile home parks (MHPs) that are currently master-metered to a new design where each space is individually-metered. There are currently over 200 parks scattered throughout the territory that have submitted applications for conversion. The MHP Conversion Team creates innovative renovations of old systems.
  • Conduct field visit(s) to spot new meter pedestal locations, plan the park’s new feedpoint and distribution system, document material to be removed, and accurately price work order packages
  • Provide complete material lists where SCE is performing all civil construction work
  • Develop and document the unique work order pricing processes required for MHP projects
  • Coordinate with gas utility company counterparts in proposing new facilities
  • Seek advice and approval from field engineers, production specialists, and other stakeholders
  • Submit complete easement and permit packages well ahead of construction dates
  • One of three Planner I’s hand-picked to assist the MHPC team
  • Designed $5M in capital projects in 2015
